2019 Summer Program

Home to eight of the last fifteen high school All-Americans in Hampton Roads, the Peninsula Patriots provide committed lacrosse players elite instruction from outstanding, veteran coaches. The mission is simple: help boys become the best that they can be by actually teaching them -- and the results are tangible: the Patriots are the most competitive and longest-running travel program in the area and boast numerous graduates successfully competing at the college level.

In 2018, the program's Showcase Team went 15-4. In addition to defeating every regional program it faced such as the Richmond Hawks 2020 team, it claimed victories over numerous national squads at prestigious recruiting events. Victories were earned over the likes of C2C Dallas 2020 and True Illinois 2020 among others.

For the summer of 2019, the Patriots will field 10U, 12U, 14U and two HS boys lacrosse teams. Individuals interested in joining the Patriots can do so in one of three ways:

  • Participate in one or more Advanced Training Program sessions alongside other candidates and present team members and, if favorably evaluated, be offered a tournament roster sport prior to the start of the Patriots season.
  • Request to be evaluated during the early stages of the 2019 regular season and, if favorably evaluated, be offered a tournament roster spot prior to the start of the Patriots season.
  • Attend a Patriots tryout (April 14 and April 28 for high school players, May 4 and May 5 for youth players) and be selected to fill any remaining tournament or alternate roster spots.

An evaluation fee of $25 (which will be applied to Patriots program fees upon selection to a team) and an Application & Waiver Form must be submitted prior to being considered for the Patriots. All participants (including returnees) must also be members of US Lacrosse.

Practices for all teams will begin in late April or early May and continue through June. All practices will be conducted on turf fields and will take place primarily on weekends at the TowneBank Athletic Park in Newport News. Additional practice locations include the Warhill Sports Complex in Williamsburg and Norfolk Collegiate in Norfolk.

The 10U team will compete as a 7 v 7 squad in the following tournaments:

The 12U and 14U teams will compete in the following tournaments:

The Tournament HS team will compete in the following tournaments:

The Showcase HS team, which focuses more on recruiting exposure and boasts numerous program graduates on NCAA varsity rosters, will compete in the following tournaments:

The cost of participation, which includes all practice sessions and tournament entry fees, is as follows:

  • 10U Team: $400
  • 12U Team: $500
  • 14U Team: $550
  • Tournament HS Team: $600
  • Showcase HS Team: $750

Newcomers to the program will also be required to purchase a two-sided, fully-sublimated team jersey for an additional $50. There is also an option to purchase matching team shorts.
